When You Need Emergency Drain Service
Call our 24 hour emergency line immediately for any of these situations:
- Raw sewage backing up into your home — This is a health emergency. Do not use any water fixtures. Call immediately.
- Multiple drains backing up at the same time — This indicates a main sewer line blockage that will worsen quickly.
- Basement or floor drain overflowing — Usually a main line issue or city sewer backup.
- Sewage smell throughout the home — May indicate a blockage causing sewer gas to build up. Evacuate if smell is strong and call us.
- Water flooding from drain during heavy rain — Storm drain or sewer system may be overwhelmed.
- Commercial facility drain failure — A restaurant, hotel, or business cannot operate with a blocked drain system.
- Toilet overflowing and won't stop — Shut the supply valve behind the toilet and call immediately.
What to Do While You Wait for a Plumber
Taking the right steps before our emergency plumber arrives can prevent water damage from spreading and make the repair faster and cleaner.
- Stop using all water immediately. Don't flush toilets, run faucets, use the dishwasher, or run the washing machine. Every drop of water you add goes somewhere — and with a blocked drain, that somewhere is your floors.
- Do not use chemical drain openers. Products like Drano and Liquid-Plumr are corrosive to pipes and can cause chemical burns. They also don't work on serious blockages and leave a hazardous residue that our plumbers then have to work around.
- Protect your floors. Lay old towels around floor drains, the base of toilets, and any drain that is actively overflowing. If you have a wet/dry shop vac, use it to remove standing water.
- Locate your main water shutoff. If water is actively flooding, shutting off the main supply to the house stops all inflow. It's usually near the water meter — in Georgia, typically in a utility closet, garage, or outside near the foundation.
- Open windows if you smell sewage gas. Hydrogen sulfide from sewer gas is hazardous. If the smell is strong, get everyone out of the affected area and call from outside while you wait.
- Document everything. If water has damaged flooring, furniture, or walls, photograph it before cleanup for insurance purposes.
Our Emergency Response Process in Georgia
When you call our 24/7 emergency line: A live person answers — no automated systems, no "press 1 for..." menus at 3am. You speak directly to a dispatcher who confirms your Georgia location, gets your address, and immediately contacts the nearest available emergency technician.
